This doll is all about the accessories! This is a 1997 Jackie Kennedy Doll by Madame Alexander called Travel Collection. Jackie will come with the matching Chaise to use at her leisure. This was not part of the original collection so it is a bonus piece but Jackie says she needs it to rest after carrying all this luggage when she travels. This chaise was said to be a miniature made for furniture salesman to showcase on the road.
Not sure if that was true but there are no markings on it. Jackie is dressed in her travel suit which has nylons, matching pumps, jacket, hat, Pearl earrings, Pearl necklace, and golden J pin. She has blinking eyes that are fully functional. Jackie feels a bit loose but I've also read that as a commonality on these dolls.
Jackie comes with a large trunk, a suitcase, a hat box, and a makeup/jewelry case. What is truly fun about this doll is all the luggage and putting everything inside them. I've laid out everything that came inside.
This set came to me as an out of box package so I will lay out my observations. As stated, the chaise is a bonus item that is included that was not part of the original travel collection so there is added value there.
There is a Cissy hatbox containing two pairs of earrings. There was no hatbox accessory included in the travel collection, so the hatbox is an additional item. When I opened the hatbox there was two pairs of earrings inside - a pair of pearl earrings and some rhinestone flower earrings with topaz stones at the top. The larger trunk had a pair of thigh high nylons, a pair of short white gloves and 3 long opera style gloves.
The third glove is stained, the other two gloves are white and new. It appears that only 1 pair of short gloves and 1 pair of long gloves was included in the travel set so the third soiled glove is an extra. Also in the box was a white slip and two pairs of heels - pink and white. It looks like these were to go with two dresses that were in the travel set that are not here a blue dress and a pink dress - so those dresses are missing but it looks like all the accessories remain.
The make-up/jewelry case shows a bit of wear and scuffing but still functions and is still pretty. Inside was a pearl chain necklace, pearl earrings, two pins and a blue pin and blue earrings set. I'm pretty sure that the second pin shaped like a moon is a duplicate added piece.
I don't see in any other sets where there are two of these included. The make-up case snaps closed in the front. The smaller suitcase had nothing in it, just pretty bows tied and a silicon pack for freshness. In summary there are added pieces in this set and missing pieces in this set so value was determined as best as possible. Other than the strange stained glove, all clothing pieces look new and in excellent condition.
She was meant to be on display with all her luggage anyway.
