This listing is for the one-of-a-kind CAROLINE, the first 8 doll Madame Alexander made exclusively for Colonial Williamsburg (CW). Caroline is a limited-edition doll, #201 of 1100. Madame Alexander started making Colonial Williamsburg themed dolls in 1965 but didn't start make 8 versions until Caroline in 2002. Caroline represents "The Winter Season" and is dressed for winter, wearing a traditional red colonial cape with gathered back hood and layered, winter-weight clothing.
Her outfit includes a lovely brocade laced jacket, called a caraco jacket, that is worn with a green petticoat (skirt), and mob cap. Underneath she wears a lace trimmed white slip, white pantyhose style stockings, and green velvet shoes. She comes with her box, wrist tag, certificate of authenticity and other MA paperwork.
